R&D Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Project Manager to join our team at Kavin Group in Barrie, ON. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the successful launch of new and improved products, ensuring they meet project objectives in terms of quality, cost, delivery, function, and scope.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage project planning and execution, including design, development, budgeting, feasibility, planning, scheduling, reporting, and managing the master launch schedule for assigned products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility, cost targets, successful execution of process and production runs, quality products, project timing, and project risks.
- Ensure products are launched on time by thoroughly analyzing the launch process, ensuring system readiness, and resource and component availability.
- Plan and manage all required tasks with cross-functional teams to achieve flawless launches, including ensuring parts are set up correctly in ERP, addressing open issues from process build, and coordinating with purchasing and quality.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineering to ensure products are evaluated for suitability for hard tooling prior to production freeze and provide support to introduce hard tooled parts at an appropriate time after launch.
- Collaborate closely with purchasing and quality in the process of selecting suppliers, ensuring feasible launch schedules are maintained, orders are placed, PQV, PPAP, and other requirements are completed at the appropriate time.
- A three-year College Diploma in Engineering or a directly related subject. An Engineering Degree is preferred.
- Minimum of five years of applicable work experience in an engineering or production environment with a minimum of three years of demonstrated project/program management experience required.
- Certificate or Diploma in Project Management/registered PMP preferred.
- MS Office, MS Project, and broad understanding of design, manufacturing, and assembly processes with experience in metal stamping and/or fabrication.
