We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our team at Baker Tilly.

This role will involve working closely with clients to build strong relationships and providing expert accounting and tax services.

As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, conducting audits and reviews, and providing technical guidance to clients.

You will also be involved in training and mentoring junior staff members and staying up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and tax laws.

The ideal candidate will have a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, 2-5 years of experience in the accounting field, and strong technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office and experience with Caseware and TaxPrep software.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct audits and reviews of financial statements, including detailed client financial statement disclosures.
  • Provide technical guidance to clients on accounting and tax matters.
  • Train and mentor junior staff members on accounting and tax procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and tax laws.
  • Prepare and present technical sessions to firm staff on accounting and tax topics.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of experience in the accounting field.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office and experience with Caseware and TaxPrep software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
