Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team at ProViso Staffing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science and experience with back-end and service-oriented development.

Key Responsibilities
  1. System Design and Development: Collaborate with business analysts and technology developers to design and develop systems that meet application requirements and performance goals.
  2. Research and Prototyping: Conduct research, build working prototypes, and recommend development and testing solutions to support project objectives.
  3. Testing and Quality Assurance: Perform unit and integration testing to ensure conformance to technology architecture standards and adherence to design specifications.
  4. Code Maintenance and Support: Create and maintain quality code, ensure defect-free programming, and provide code maintenance and support during testing cycles and post-production deployment.
  5. Peer Code Review: Participate in reviewing peer code and providing feedback to ensure high-quality code.
Requirements
  1. Software Experience: 7-10 years of software experience with emphasis on back-end and service-oriented development.
  2. Computer Science Background: Strong computer science background with a good understanding of functional and object-oriented programming, event-driven and microservices architecture.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficient in Java (8/11/17), Java application frameworks (Spring Boot, Quarkus), other JVM-based languages (e.g., Kotlin), and Scala. Experience with cloud environments such as AWS/Azure/GCP, stream processing engines such as Apache Flink/Apache Spark, and development and configuration of Kafka.
  4. Database Experience: Experience working with relational databases such as MSSQL, Postgres, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, Riak, Cassandra, etc.
  5. Atlassian Tools: Familiarity with Atlassian tools for managing software delivery and prioritization, e.g., Confluence, JIRA, Trello, BitBucket, etc.
