- This role requires collaboration with client stakeholders and D2L team members to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
- Candidates will work closely with client subject matter experts to gather learning content and vision.
- Leveraging instructional design best practices, learning theory, and Brightspace expertise, successful candidates will align course design and development to meet client needs.
- They will also coach clients through defining learning objectives, organizing course content, implementing effective evaluation strategies, and integrating interactivity and media solutions.
- In addition, they will develop content in Brightspace using various tools and methodologies as required.
- Collaboration with courseware developers on content development and LMS tool configurations will be essential.
- Working closely with D2L project managers, courseware developers, and graphic designers will bring learning content to life in Brightspace.
- Maintaining progress and communicating roadblocks through regular touchpoints and emails with clients and internal project managers will be key.
- Candidates will also collaborate with project teams to address roadblocks and find efficiencies.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE:
- A strong foundation in written and oral communication will enable you to effectively collaborate with clients and colleagues.
- In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles and practices, including the ADDIE model, adult learning principles, interactive learning design, and blended learning techniques, will be beneficial.
- The ability to monitor progress and take initiative to address roadblocks alongside project managers will be essential.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Completing needs analyses for clients will demonstrate your understanding of their requirements.
- Collecting, reviewing, and revising course content to support learning objectives and client vision will showcase your attention to detail.
- Experience working with learning management systems, specifically Brightspace, will be advantageous.
- The ability to storyboard and script to support multimedia creation will highlight your creative skills.
- Analyzing, consulting, and organizing skills will demonstrate your ability to manage projects efficiently.
- Proficiency in MS Office will ensure seamless communication and documentation.
- Familiarity with French language is considered an asset but not mandatory.
Experience:
- Some experience in education, training, or developing learning solutions will provide a solid foundation.
- In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles and practices will enable you to apply them effectively.
- Collaborating with clients, subject matter experts, faculty, and other stakeholders will demonstrate your interpersonal skills.
- Applying pedagogical theory and instructional design principles to strategy, planning, development, and design will showcase your critical thinking abilities.
- Leveraging different tools and functionality of Brightspace (or other LMSs) to integrate interactivity, multimedia, LMS tools, and features will highlight your technical expertise.
- Adapting training materials and course content to suit different methods of learning delivery (instructor-led, self-paced, synchronous, asynchronous, blended, etc.) will demonstrate your flexibility.
- Adapting training materials and course content based on different business segments (K12, higher ed, and corporate) will showcase your adaptability.
- Triage and prioritizing client requests and suggesting innovative solutions that fit within project scope will highlight your problem-solving skills.
Education:
- A degree in Education, Adult Education, or Instructional Design will provide a solid academic background.
Compensation and Benefits:
With a competitive base salary range of $53,000 - $79,000 CAD, this role offers a great opportunity for growth and development.
