About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at VON Canada, serving Nova Scotia. As an LPN with VON, you will have the opportunity to work independently in various settings, providing medical care to children, youth, adults, and seniors.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing diabetes, dialysis, medication, palliative care, phlebotomy, and wound care, including negative pressure wound therapy and complex wounds
- Providing comprehensive assessments, developing care plans, and implementing interventions to promote optimal health outcomes
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals, families, and caregivers to ensure seamless care coordination
- Maintaining accurate records, documenting patient progress, and communicating effectively with stakeholders
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the province of practice
- Experience in community health, preferably with a focus on home care or gerontology
- A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, and Child Abuse Registry Check (as required)
- The ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe working environment
