Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced ATIP Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing access to information requests, analyzing records, and providing recommendations on disclosure and exemption under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review access to information requests and ensure all responsive records are included in the case file;
  • Analyze records and provide recommendations on disclosure and exemption under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act;
  • Conduct research and analysis to prepare ATIP-related correspondence;
  • Provide advice to RCMP staff, stakeholders, and requesters on the interpretation and application of the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act;
  • Lead consultations with other government agencies and third parties concerning perceived risks associated with the release of information found in RCMP files;
  • Write memoranda and correspondence pertaining to the processing of Access to Information Act and Privacy Act requests.
Qualifications
  • Must demonstrate 10 years of experience in reviewing access to information requests and files at the Canadian Federal Government level;
  • Must demonstrate experience in addressing complaints from the Offices of the Information Commissioner and Privacy Commissioner, and defending exemptions applied under the Acts which resulted in successful resolution;
  • Must demonstrate experience using an ATIP Case Management System (APCM) in the Canadian Federal Government;
  • Must currently hold a valid government reliability status.
Benefits

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid vacation time.

About the Location

This role is based in Ottawa, Ontario, but we are open to considering remote work arrangements for the right candidate.
