Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse - Ophthalmology

North York General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Practical Nurse to join our Ophthalmology team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the delivery of high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical competence and excellent patient and family-driven care in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of care providers to assess, educate, prevent, maintain, and restore patient health.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with peers, physicians, staff, patients, and families.
  • Contribute to the Hospital's academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation.
  • Ensure health and safety policies are followed to provide a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers, learners, patients, and families.
Requirements:
  • Registered Practical Nursing diploma from a recognized Community College.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Operating Room diploma course.
  • Minimum of 2 years recent Operating Room experience preferred.
  • Ophthalmology experience an asset.
  • Proficient skill level with computers, MS Word, Internet searches, data entry, and patient information systems.

This is a Full-time Temporary Position of 1 Year with 8 hour shifts, days, evening, including Weekends and On-Call in the OR, Ophthalmology Unit.
