**Job Summary**

We are seeking a Technical Process Director - Flotation Operations to lead our flotation activities in the USA as a technical expert and supervisory mentor. This hybrid role will be based in Eastern Canada but frequently require commuting to our Erie, PA location in the US.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead and guide a team of 3-6 Process Engineers/Metallurgists in Erie, PA to ensure the achievement of quality, productivity, and timely completions of tasks.
  • Check and review work performed by members of the process team and manage the allocation of work within the team.
  • Contribute proactively to business development activities, including client meetings, technical presentations at professional conferences and/or events, and representative training.
  • Provide mentoring, leadership, and professional development to the process team.
  • Develop, review, and implement workflow processes and procedures.
  • Develop and implement a system complete with tools to keep track of RFQs, orders, and support requests to ensure effective and timely response to other departments, customers, and external parties.

**Technical and Operational Support**

  • Coordinate with Global Flotation Capital Sales, Services, Engineering, and Product Management Groups, as well as regional Eriez offices, to support process-related aspects of mineral processing flowsheet development, equipment sales, project delivery, and overall business excellence.
  • Oversee the development, management, and interpretation of laboratory/piloting metallurgical testwork programs. Participate in testwork at Eriez USA flotation laboratory, external commercial laboratories, and customer sites, as necessary.
  • Write and review testwork reports, sales proposal technical content, business cases, and technical whitepapers.
  • Perform calculations related to equipment sizing and process design in support of flowsheet development and commercial bid packages.
  • Provide commissioning, operation, and optimization support at clients' sites.
  • Resolve technical and process design challenges related to new delivery projects/perform troubleshooting using root cause analysis principles to address process issues for equipment in operation.
  • Collaborate on projects with local and global team members, external parties, and clients directly.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects.
  • Provide regular project updates, including work progress, risks, and priorities.
  • Coordinate and work with instrument specialists for instrument/valves/pump selection and datasheet development.
  • Prepare and review equipment datasheets, control philosophy, or any other technical documentation as needed.

**Requirements**

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • Master's or doctorate degree in engineering highly desirable.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in mineral processing or chemical engineering.
  • Experience in froth flotation process and flow sheet development and analysis.
  • Registration as a professional engineer in the USA or Canada is highly desirable.
  • Supervisory experience, including the development and mentorship of process engineers from entry-level to senior level.
  • Prior experience in a client-facing role with proven proficiency in delivering OEM and/or EPC projects on time and within budgets.
  • Must be comfortable leading internal/external meetings and presenting to an audience.
  • Communication and leadership skills combined with the ability to provide advanced technical solutions and problem-solve are essential to the role.
  • Detailed-oriented, organized with strong planning and coordination skills.
  • Able to respond quickly to change and adapt to new requirements.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Able to effectively multitask, prioritize activities, and deliver work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to travel internationally to perform site visits and support business meetings.

**Estimated Salary**: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum.
