Business Development Leader

Our client, a renowned market leader in the utility space, is seeking a seasoned Business Development Leader to spearhead account management and sales efforts. This key role involves fostering strategic relationships with senior-level executives at prominent electric utilities and telecom companies.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the utility sector and be adept at creating value for clients through consultative sales techniques. Key responsibilities include:
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to drive revenue growth and expand service offerings within existing accounts
- Foster strong relationships with contacts at various levels, including senior executives, to identify opportunities and build trust
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Operations and Contracts, to ensure seamless delivery of services and proposal development
- Provide expert guidance on proposal development, leveraging customer and market intelligence to craft compelling language and ensure successful project outcomes
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with relevant experience in sales and/or management (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Utility operations/management experience preferred
- MBA preferred
- Proven track record of consultative sales and selling services, with a focus on expanding services within existing accounts
- Experience responding to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and navigating contract language
- Strong leadership and self-motivational qualities
- Willingness to travel overnight
