Urban Planning Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Urban Planner to join our team at IBI Group. As an Urban Planner, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our communities by developing and implementing plans that promote sustainable and livable cities.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in a broad range of projects, from site-specific feasibility studies to community policy initiatives, transit-oriented development projects, master plans, and development approvals.
- Lead and support stakeholder engagement for a wide variety of placemaking projects, including outreach strategies and engagement/communication plans.
- Plan, manage, and facilitate physical and online engagement processes to ensure effective community participation.
- Contribute to the growth and development of our Indigenous Engagement practice, fostering strong relationships with Indigenous communities and stakeholders.
- Network and build relationships with current and prospective clients and other strategic contacts to promote our practice and projects.
- Represent our practice/projects at conferences or other events, showcasing our expertise and thought leadership in urban planning and placemaking.
- 3-10 years of experience in planning, urban design, or applied professions, with a strong understanding of urban planning principles and practices.
- Eligible for Registered Professional Planner (RPP) designation, with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
- An accredited degree in Urban Planning, with a master's degree being an asset.
- IAP2 certification is an asset, demonstrating expertise in public participation and engagement.
- Familiarity with provincial planning legislation and the development approval process, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $100,000, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
