Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Seasonal Forklift Operator to join our team at Refresco. As a key member of our warehouse team, you will be responsible for operating forklifts and related machinery in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts and/or related machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Conduct trailer inspections, load full good trailers, and offload Port–o-Pets.
  • Clean the shipping area as required, including mopping the PIT area, 18" perimeter, emptying the garbage's, emptying the cardboard bins, and all other cleaning duties as assigned by Lead-hands.
  • Relieve on the production lines for breaks as per relief schedule and line operator requirements.
  • Bring to management's attention any hazardous condition that could cause an accident or an unsafe working condition.
  • Report to management any incidents, accidents, or near misses suffered during the work shift.
  • Participate in hazard assessments and analysis when requested.
  • Bring to the attention of management and/or Inventory Control any discrepancies in inventory accuracy in the inventory management system SAP.
  • Be active in assisting the site to continuously improve efficiency, performance, and reducing downtime and waste.
  • Promote enthusiastic, positive, and proactive attitudes and team-based behaviors.
  • Commit to successfully achieving the goals and objectives of the team, the department, and the company.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
  • Work a rotating shift schedule (morning, afternoon, and graveyard shifts).
Requirements
  • Valid Forklift certification.
  • Approximately 3+ years in a fast-moving packaged goods environment, beverage production experience preferred.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written.
  • Solid understanding of production machinery/forklifts, including an awareness of technical issues.
  • Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Formal training in areas such as WHIMIS, HACCP, Hygiene, etc. preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Physical: Continuously standing or walking. Regular requirements to lift/handle/carry material or equipment of moderate weight.
  • Visual/Sensory: This position requires regular need to give moderate attention with one or two senses at a time.
  • Work environment: Work and environment are very repetitive.
  • Mental Stress: There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy, or similar demands.
