About the Role

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to join their team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of medicines prepared in aseptic units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit aseptic units as an auditor to assess their performance against nationally agreed standards.
  • Provide expert technical knowledge of good manufacturing practice and experience of aseptic services to inform your assessments.
  • Feed back your findings to senior pharmacy leaders and document your findings within iQAAPs, the NHS's electronic system.
  • Collaborate with the QA team to produce guidance in webpage format to facilitate consistent advice and implementation in sites across the country.
  • Assist with a wide range of enquiry answering as a member of the SPS regional team for North East and Yorkshire.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Technology & Quality Assurance or equivalent experience.
  • Basic qualification in pharmaceutical sciences (BTEC) or an equivalent scientific qualification.
  • Extensive post qualification experience including Good Manufacturing Practice, risk management, and quality management systems.
  • Experience of auditing and self-inspection to meet pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others.
