Senior Food Scientist

As a Senior Food Scientist at Custom Culinary, you will lead our Research and Development projects to develop new and optimized products for key clients that support our overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage R&D projects and conduct ongoing scientific experiments contributing to new products and technologies.
  • Offer recommendations for new products, processes, techniques, or solutions.
  • Operate specialized equipment, evaluate materials and products, and assist in production trials as required.
  • Communicate professionally with all departments, clients, and suppliers.
  • Maintain GLP's, GMP's, and accurate laboratory records.
  • Provide leadership and training to more junior scientists.
  • Participate in sensory panels.
  • Lead or participate in customer presentations.
  • Lead or participate in internal cross-functional teams to complete special projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for maintaining the security of all information regarding product formulas and related confidential information.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Comply with all product safety, regulatory, and quality requirements, and with all company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Sciences degree in Food Science or related technical degree.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Research and Development or related experience within the food industry.
  • Experience working with Food Service/QSR and Seafood Processors is considered an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate specialized processing equipment and instruments is preferred.
  • Travel as required.
