Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Health Science Quality Improvement Professional to join our team at Island Health. As a key member of our infection control team, you will be responsible for implementing quality improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong background in health science and quality improvement. The ideal candidate will have experience working directly with infection control processes, policies, and activities, including project management and performance measurement.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for implementation.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide education and training to staff on infection control procedures and best practices.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop plans to mitigate potential risks.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in quality improvement.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant health science discipline.
  • Three years' recent related acute care clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with infection control processes, policies, and activities.
  • Strong working knowledge of program development and implementation.
  • Certificate of successful completion from an IPAC Canada-endorsed infection control course or evidence of Certification in Infection Control (CIC).
  • Valid Class 5 vehicle license.

  • Ability to critique, organize, and analyze information.
