Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room, Ophthalmology Department at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care and support to patients and families in the Operating Room, Ophthalmology Department.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Assess, educate, and prevent patient health issues, and restore patient health through effective care planning and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing learning and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in surgical nursing and patient care.
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Diploma in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Operating Room post-diploma program certificate.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Certified in Perioperative Nursing (CPNc), preferred.
  • 1-3 years recent Operating Room experience covering all surgical services, preferred.
  • 1-2 years' surgical ophthalmology experience, preferred.
  • Laser course, preferred.
  • Bilingualism in French/English, an asset.
