The Cloud Infrastructure Role

Veeva's Vault Platform enables rapid development of enterprise applications for our Life Sciences customers. Our Vault applications, built on the Vault platform, facilitate running and managing clinical trials, ensuring compliance with regulations, safely manufacturing life-saving medicines, and more.

The Cloud Infrastructure team utilizes diverse cloud and open-source technologies to deliver a massively scalable, robust, and highly available platform.

We seek experienced Senior Software Engineers passionate about designing and implementing highly available, distributed, and secure systems on cloud platforms. Your work will provide immutability across application and storage layers, including replication and containerization of backend services.

You'll be responsible for leveraging diverse cloud and open-source technologies to deliver a massively scalable, robust, highly available, and immutable platform powering all Veeva Vault applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Development teams on technical design and problem-solving for compelling solutions to complex problems.
  • Optimize and improve existing infrastructure, architecture, and processes to harness the power of cloud platforms.
  • Owning all aspects of feature implementation from design to development, deployment to production, support, and maintenance.
  • Designing and building scalable, highly available, and easily maintainable systems.
  • Developing multi-tenant RESTful services at scale.
Requirements
  • Detailed experience with many AWS APIs and technologies: EC2, IAM, Route 53, Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancing, Elastic Container Service, S3, EBS, VPC, Security Groups, EKS.
  • At least 5 years of commercial software development experience in Object-Oriented Languages (e.g., Java, C#, Go).
  • Hands-on development expertise with open-source technologies: Spring, Maven, Git, Jenkins, JUnit, Tomcat, Linux.
  • Experience with scripting such as Linux Shell, Python.
  • Proficiency with Immutable Infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code patterns and technologies: Docker, Ansible, Packer, Vagrant, AWS SDK for Java.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.

  • Experience with developing enterprise software for businesses.

Compensation Package
  • $150,000 - $320,000 base salary
  • We consider individual qualifications, experience, and expected contributions when determining compensation. This role may also be eligible for additional types of compensation beyond base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
