About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Infrastructure Architect to join our team at CHROME TECHNOLOGIES. As an integral part of our organization, you will play a key role in designing and implementing cutting-edge IT infrastructure solutions.

Job Summary

The Senior IT Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive technology designs, solutions, and implementation plans for our Data Center Team. This individual must possess excellent written and verbal presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  1. Design and Implementation: Provide project/operations specific architectural and comprehensive technology designs, solutions, and implementation plans for the Data Center Team.
  2. Solution Evaluation: Review and evaluate solutions and develop optimized infrastructure designs based on a rigorous understanding of returned benefits and impact on Business or IT.
  3. Security by Design: Ensure the architecture is designed with 'Security by Design' principles, including the incorporation of security controls and measures at the design phase to mitigate potential risks and threats.
  4. Technology Selection: Review and help in choosing the right technology for the context.
  5. Technical Evaluation: Evaluate entire projects from a technical stance, guaranteeing that the methods and technologies used are practical and correct and fit for purpose.
  6. Architecture Validation: Validate and challenge the detailed technical infrastructure architectures provided by technology partners, team members, and vendors in support of a project or Operation technical solution.
  7. Project Transition: Assist in the transition of the project to Operations.
  8. Escalation Point: Act as a final path of escalation within their area of expertise for any Data Center architecture.
  9. Emerging Technologies: Investigate the viability of upcoming and emerging technologies to improve the infrastructure's stability, longevity, and adaptability.
  10. Compliance: Secure Infrastructure architecture compliance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of total experience in IT with relevant technologies.
  • 5+ years of experience in the analysis and understanding of the Infrastructure related to Data Center, hardware, and systems including servers, network, security, storage, and compute for traditional, hybrid, or cloud Data Centers.
  • 7+ years of experience in deploying and managing virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience in various IT roles and environments up to and including technical or IT team leadership positions.
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS & SaaS), automation, orchestration, cost frameworks, trends, and industry-leading private/public/hybrid cloud vendor offerings and interoperability.
  • 5+ years of experience in high demand, low fault tolerance environments.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical infrastructure design role and demonstration of subject expertise.
Competencies
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills in English (French is a big plus).
  • Demonstrate strong applied knowledge of layered architectures, virtualized environments, security, monitoring, and high availability systems.
  • Self-motivated and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to learn business rules and comply with both existing and new requirements.
  • Good knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and best practices (e.g. ITIL).
Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience.
