Mental Health and Cultural Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health and Cultural Support Specialist to join our team at The Indigenous Network. This is an exciting opportunity to work with diverse populations, provide support and guidance, and promote mental wellness in the community.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will provide single session peer support and/or counseling services to individuals, couples, and families experiencing mental health issues. They will also provide referrals to additional resources and collaborate with other organizations to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
About the Role:This role is ideal for someone with experience working in mental health support and cultural awareness. You will be responsible for providing emotional support, information, and referrals to help clients achieve their goals. You will also work collaboratively with our team to develop and implement programs that promote mental wellness and cultural understanding.

Responsibilities:- Provide single session peer support and/or counseling services to individuals, couples, and families experiencing mental health issues
- Assess client needs and develop plans to support their mental wellness and cultural awareness
- Collaborate with other organizations to provide comprehensive support for clients
- Develop and implement programs that promote mental wellness and cultural understanding
- Work collaboratively with our team to deliver exceptional service and support
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in Social Work or equivalent
- At least two years of direct mental health support experience working with diverse populations
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk factors and risk assessment
- Demonstrated knowledge of professional standards and ethical guidelines for social workers and counselors
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be required to maintain accurate records and statistical data, prepare reports, and attend meetings and training sessions. A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle may be required for some positions.
Compensation:We offer a competitive salary range of $54,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous vacation and sick leave policy.
