About the Role
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for operating straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently.
  • They will also oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
  • In addition, the Logistics Transportation Specialist will perform emergency roadside repairs and maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in transportation logistics
Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  2. Arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations as needed.
  3. Load and unload goods from vehicles.
  4. Obtain special permits and documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
  5. Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  6. Record and manage cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
