Becoming a Remote Bilingual Medical Phone Interpreter at Kelly Services, Inc.

We are currently seeking dedicated individuals fluent in English and Mandarin to facilitate communication between individuals with limited English language skills and representatives from various industries as remote bilingual medical phone interpreters. This is an exciting opportunity for those who want to utilize their language skills to make a meaningful impact while enjoying the flexibility of working from home.

This role plays a crucial part in bridging cultural and linguistic gaps, ensuring effective communication between all parties. Your responsibilities will include providing accurate and clear interpretation during phone calls, handling industry-specific interpretations, cultural bridging, and maintaining professionalism.

As a remote bilingual medical phone interpreter, you will be required to adhere to a weekly schedule of a minimum 30 hours per week with no planned absences for at least the first 450 hours worked. You will also participate in training sessions to elevate your interpretation skills and stay current with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Telephone Interpretation: Provide accurate and clear interpretation during phone calls, ensuring effective communication between all parties.
  • Industry-Specific Interpretation: Utilize your language skills to navigate conversations in specialized fields such as Healthcare, Insurance, Financial, and Law Enforcement, adapting to industry-specific terminologies.
  • Cultural Bridging: Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and understanding to create an inclusive atmosphere, fostering a positive and effective communication environment.
  • Maintaining Professionalism: Uphold a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy during all interactions.

The successful candidate will be fluent in English and Mandarin - reading, writing, and speaking, have acquired a high school diploma or GED, be confident with medical terminology, be 18 years or older, reside in Canada, legally be authorized to work in Canada, have a suitable quiet & secure work-at-home environment, and have a stable and fast internet connection.
