Industrial Millwright Technician

Job Overview
The Industrial Millwright Technician will be responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This role will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and work in a state-of-the-art shingle plant.
Salary Information
This is a competitive hourly position with a rate of $37.92 per hour, along with benefits including health, dental, and insurance plans, a matched retirement savings program, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and maintain mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks on pumps, gearboxes, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other production equipment.
- Analyze problems and identify root causes to implement effective solutions.
- Dismantle and repair faulty parts using hand and power tools, hoists, cranes, and other specialized equipment.
- Inspect and measure parts using precision instruments to determine dimensional requirements.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments to ensure accurate operations.
- Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery to maintain their operating condition.
- Aid in planning and closing work orders in Maximo, record parts and materials used, and order or create requisitions as necessary.
Requirements
- Hold a valid Ontario Industrial Mechanic License 433A (Red Seal Certificate of Qualifications).
- Possess a full set of metric standard tools.
- Have exposure to mechanical devices, pneumatic controls, and welding/cutting.
- Show at least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Be able to read mechanical drawings.
- Work flexible shifts, extended hours, and weekends as needed.
- Utilize interpersonal, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills effectively.
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and walk/stand 70-90% of the shift.
- Work at heights and in confined spaces safely.
