We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Science and Restoration Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with expertise in building design and assessment.

About the Role

">
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from conceptual design to final completion.
  • They will conduct site investigations and evaluations of existing buildings, formulate retrofit programs, and recommend project concepts to clients.
  • The role involves designing and analyzing existing building components, upgrades, and improvements, as well as preparing reports and studies.
  • The candidate will also participate in the preparation of mechanical drawings and specifications, and will work efficiently on multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • They will design building systems in accordance with office standards, municipal or provincial building codes, and other applicable standards.
  • The role includes conducting building assessments/audits, participating in capital planning, major equipment replacement projects, and control upgrades.
  • The candidate will also participate in commissioning test plans, procedures, and reports, and will lead mechanical-driven projects as the primary point of contact with the Owner.
  • They will distribute work between internal and external design teams, attend project/technical meetings, and coordinate with other engineering and architectural disciplines.
  • The candidate will also design mechanical building systems directly in Revit/CAD, adhere to company BIM/CAD standards, and contract administration/construction review while implementing retrofit work.
  • Additionally, they will mentor and train junior staff, market and solicit work from new and existing clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registered with the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years' experience in mechanical engineering, including supervision of junior engineers/engineering interns/technologists.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to conceptualize design with an understanding of constructability, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of business personnel and build strong working relationships.
  • Proven leadership skills, exceptional organizational, time-management, and project management skills, and a self-motivated attitude with a desire to continually learn and grow.

Compensation

">

We offer a competitive salary of $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Location

This position is based in Toronto, Ontario, and requires relocation to Canada.
