The successful candidate will work on various construction sites, building foundations, installing floor beams, and erecting walls and roof systems. They will also be responsible for fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, as well as maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures.

We offer a permanent position with 35 hours of work per week, and the successful candidate will be required to work in a noisy, dusty, and outdoors environment. The work setting will be in construction, with various locations and a willingness to relocate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Reading blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Scheduling and co-ordinating work on sites
  • Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
