SMOKE POUTINERIE is a reputable restaurant seeking an experienced Executive Chef and Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. We offer competitive compensation and opportunities for growth.
Salary and BenefitsThe successful candidate will receive an estimated salary of $45,000 to $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits including free parking available, parking available, and work term: permanent.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Executive Chef and Restaurant Manager to lead our culinary team. Key responsibilities include:
- Co-ordinate special events such as buffets and banquets, requiring excellent planning and organizational skills;
- Plan menus and estimate food requirements to ensure efficient inventory management;
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies while maintaining high-quality standards;
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, adhering to dietary instructions and quality control measures;
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met;
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to maintain high-quality service;
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and feedback for improved performance;
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to optimize resource allocation;
- Clean kitchen and work areas, promoting a safe and healthy environment;
In addition, you will be responsible for managing kitchen operations, including organizing buffets and banquets, and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you must have:
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate; alternatively, equivalent experience;
- Experience: At least 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role;
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff;
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines;
- A deep understanding of kitchen operations, menu planning, and inventory management;
