Lead Lawyer for International Contracts

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in Toronto, CA for the RER project.
The ideal candidate will have a law degree and be admitted to the Quebec or Ontario Bar Association. They will also have at least 7 years of relevant experience in an international business environment or law firm, preferably with public-private partnerships or complex international contracts.
The Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal support and expertise to the business, including contract negotiation, claim management, and dispute settlement. They will also be responsible for promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review and negotiate contracts with an acceptable level of risk.
- Support the business in all legal and contractual matters.
- Evaluate tender documents and provide legal advice on contractual matters.
- Manage litigation, arbitration, or other dispute matters.
- Handle corporate law matters.
Requirements:
- Law degree (BCL or LLB).
- Admitted to the Quebec or Ontario Bar Association.
- Master Degree (Law or Business) (Desirable).
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in an international business environment or law firm.
- Familiar with public-private partnerships or complex international contracts.
