Job Title: Drywall CraftsmanEstimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints. They will also apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster, clean and prepare surfaces, cure freshly plastered surfaces, cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners, fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids, and place panels in acoustic and coffered ceilings.
Additional duties include filling joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife, finishing corners and angles, creating decorative designs in the finish coat if required, measuring, cutting, fitting, and installing drywall sheets, mixing plaster ingredients to the desired consistency, moulding and installing ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim, positioning and securing sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists, and smoothing out excess compound and allowing it to dry.
The ideal candidate will have 2 years to less than 3 years of experience and possess excellent physical stamina to work at heights on scaffolding or swing stages. They must also be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications, as well as erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms.
This is a permanent full-time position, requiring 40 hours of work per week. Fluency in English is essential for effective communication and collaboration within our team.
