Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant to join our team at Plan Group. As a key member of our operational team, you will play a critical role in managing financial aspects of large complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze project forecasts submitted by Project Managers to ensure reasonableness and accuracy.
  • Examine costing and revenue allocations on projects to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Set up and close jobs in the accounting system to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist with month-end processes, focusing on project review and analysis.
  • Coordinate Time & Material billings, reviewing rates and mark-ups to ensure fairness and transparency.
  • Produce weekly reports and provide analytical support to Project Managers to inform decision-making.
  • Ensure a deep understanding of administrative and billing aspects of project contracts.
  • Perform other administrative and project-related tasks as required to support the team's objectives.
Requirements
  • A university or college diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence in interacting daily with operations team leaders.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (an asset).
  • Analytical and organizational skills with superior attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently within a team environment, handle strict deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • A professional, responsive, and positive work attitude, with high respect for confidentiality and sound judgment.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
