Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Strategic Planning Director to lead our organizational planning and reporting efforts at Fraser Health. This role is responsible for developing and implementing the framework for strategic planning and reporting, ensuring alignment with provincial and ministry priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of organizational plans and reports, including Objectives and Key Results, Service Plan, Annual Service Plan Report, and progress reports;
  • Collaborate with executive sponsors to develop and communicate the organization-wide perspective of major initiatives and changes underway;
  • Partner with clinical and corporate departments to develop annual and strategic plans aligned with provincial and Fraser Health priorities;
  • Provide thought leadership on change initiative design and risk mitigation strategies to ensure success and benefit realization;
  • Establish evidence-based planning and reporting processes and templates, and monitor progress on key initiatives;
  • Develop and implement planning and reporting standards, tools, and templates, and establish methodologies;
  • Ensure the integrity of plans and reports through quality assurance and direction to leaders across Fraser Health;
  • Manage assigned budget, review variances, project future variances, and develop plans for course correction;
  • Lead the development of ODPT team members in leadership, strategic planning, and reporting skills;
  • Provide updates, analyses, and communications to senior leadership, executive sponsors, and the Ministry of Health as required;
  • Monitor national, regional, and industry trends in planning, identify opportunities for improvement, and inform strategy development;
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Health, Business Administration, or related discipline, supplemented by strategy development or project management training;
  • Ten years of recent planning, evaluation, or strategic transformation experience, including policy analysis/development, project/program/portfolio management, management consulting, and supervision;
  • Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle for business purposes;
  • Demonstrated leadership practices of the Fraser Health Leadership Framework, creating conditions for people to succeed;
  • Expert knowledge of strategic planning, change, and project management principles, coupled with an in-depth understanding of the healthcare system;
  • Ability to operate a PC and effectively utilize software applications to support role fulfillment;
Benefits
