About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Services Manager to join our team at PARC Retirement Living. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our properties, including maintenance, repairs, and upkeep.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of building maintenance, including cleaning, painting, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and snow removal.
  • Triage and respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage and procure maintenance supplies and trades.
  • Conduct regular suite inspections and perform repairs, carpet cleaning, painting, and other in-suite tasks as needed.
  • Assist with budget planning, energy optimization, and other corporate initiatives.

Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience as a handyperson in a senior-living or hospitality environment, including supervising employees and/or contractors.
  • Excellent decision-making, customer service, and participative management skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with all types of building equipment, electrical and mechanical systems, including kitchen equipment.
  • Facility Management or Class 5 Power Engineering certification.
  • Basic understanding of physical plant operations, maintenance, and trouble-shooting of major systems.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
