About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Accessibility Advisor to join our team at the University of Toronto. As an Accessibility Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting students with disabilities to achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess student needs and develop individualized accommodation plans to ensure equal access to education.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to implement accommodations and provide support services.
  • Provide case management support to students with complex needs, coordinating with multiple services and resources.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with academic programs and departments to promote accessibility and inclusion.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in disability support and accommodations, and apply this knowledge to inform your work.
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff to ensure seamless delivery of services and accommodations.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as education, social work, or psychology.
  • Minimum four years of experience in disability support, accommodations, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing accommodations for students with mental health disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of disability laws and regulations, including the Ontario Human Rights Code.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
