Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at NJSA Enterprises Ltd.

About the Role:

  • This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a cash register, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records of sales transactions.
  • They will also be required to stock shelves, clean the counter area, and provide excellent customer service.
  • A valid salary for this role in the current market conditions is around $42,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate cash registers and process payments accurately.
  • Scan items and tabulate total payment for goods or services sold.
  • Receive payment from customers and reconcile daily/shift payments with total sales.
  • Stock shelves and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers and assisting with their queries.
  • Wrap or place merchandise in bags and weigh produce and bulk foods as required.
  • Monitor entrances and exits, request proof of payment when necessary, and verify the age of customers when selling restricted products.

Requirements:

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree or certificate not required; willingness to train is essential.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that require bending, crouching, and kneeling.
