Job Description

The Site Operations Manager will report directly to the Project Manager and be responsible for ensuring that all site operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications. Key responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting work daily to ensure compliance with specified standards;
  • Informing the Project Manager of project developments and discussing planned methods with site management;
  • Ordering critical materials with suppliers in collaboration with the Superintendent;
  • Performing quantity tracking and cost coding for productivity analysis and accurate job cost forecasting;
  • Preparing daily reports on crew progress and issues;
  • Providing document control for correspondence, submittals, RFI's, NCR's, etc.;
  • Assisting in preparing final records for the project, including as-built drawings;
  • Organizing and participating in various meetings;
  • Maintaining essential communications between suppliers, subcontractors, professionals, and clients;
  • Carrying out field duties related to the project.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field;
  • 2-5 years of industry experience, preferably in heavy civil construction;
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical design drawings;
  • Experience with scheduling and planning site activities;
  • Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, etc.;
  • Cost analysis, control, and reporting skills;
  • Commercial knowledge of contracts;
  • Bilingualism (an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills is required.
