About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Legal Account Manager to join our team at goeasy Ltd. This role is responsible for managing assigned regional inventory, facilitating collection tools and legal action, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage regional inventory, including active and written-off accounts, through effective collection tools and legal action.
  • Stay organized and manage deadlines for all required legal and administrative duties.
  • Review and flag pre-lit and legal accounts for review and action.
  • Manage recovery portfolio of written-off loans through phone calls, text messages, emails, and required legal action.
  • Proceed with legal action on delinquent accounts through the Small Claims Court process.
  • Keep up-to-date with Small Claims Court rules and procedures, as well as court filings and proceedings.
  • Actively manage recoveries inventory, establish payment arrangements, settlements, garnishments, and other required actions.
  • Apply compliance, regulatory standards, and best practices on collections.
  • Pull and analyze credit reports to review new and existing files and determine next steps.
  • Document all communications and legal activity, and upload required documents onto internal systems.
  • Utilize skip tracing as required to obtain employment and address confirmation, and other required details.
  • Consistently hit or exceed monthly targets.
  • Collect and process payments made by customers using acceptable payment methods.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of related experience in a similar role.
  • 1-2 years of collections experience (asset).
  • Paralegal designation or legal background (asset).
  • Post-secondary education preferred (college or university).
  • Full driver's license with access to a vehicle.
  • Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, self-motivate, and work independently.
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office/SharePoint (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at various levels across the organization.
  • Detail-oriented and demonstrated ability for accuracy.
