Rogers Communications, a leading telecommunications company in Canada, is seeking an experienced Senior Transport Network Engineer to join its team. This role is part of the Optical Transport Network Planning & Design Department, which plays a crucial role in planning, budgeting, capacity management, design, and implementing the Wireline Optical Transport Network.

The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in network engineering with a major Telecom Service Provider or Cable Operator. A Professional Engineering designation, undergraduate university degree in electrical/Electronics engineering, or community college diploma with CET certification is required. The successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of Fiber Optic, SONET, DWDM, CWDM, Ethernet, and Digital Video Transport technologies.

This role involves creating quotes and complex transport-related engineering plans, writing CA or supporting CA's, and mentoring Transport Planners/Designers. The Senior Transport Network Engineer will be responsible for quality related to solution and budget of Eng. Plans created by Transport Planners/Designers. They will also be responsible for assigning plans to the Design team, preparing major transport network quotes, and issuing engineering plans/designs that clearly explain and solve network capacity augments, customer requirements, and integration reconfigurations.

As a member of Rogers' Optical Transport Network Planning & Design Department, you will work closely with other teams, including engineering and implementations, project management, and operations, to ensure planning and implementation of designs. Your attention to detail and ability to work in cross-functional teams will help drive success in this role.

The salary for this position is estimated at around $120,000 per year, based on the location in Brampton, ON, and the level of experience required. This includes a competitive annual bonus, health benefits, pension plan, RRSP, TFSA, and stock matching programs.
