Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Specialist to join our retail team at Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate with a positive and professional approach towards customers and colleagues.
  • Maintain effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Prepare, wrap, price, and stock products as required.
  • Ensure all meat and bakery products meet display standards.
  • Perform regular equipment maintenance, monitor case temperatures, and maintain cleanliness.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies, sanitation guidelines, and government regulations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and advise supervisors when replenishment is necessary.
  • Prepare dough for various baked goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or customer orders.
  • Bake mixed doughs and batters.
  • Frost and decorate cakes or other baked goods.
  • Verify product quality meets established standards.
  • Determine production schedules to determine product quantity and type.
  • Purchase baking supplies.
  • Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods.
  • Supervise and train baking personnel and kitchen staff.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent preferred.
  • WHIMIS/Food Safety Handling certificates are mandatory.
  • A minimum of three months' experience in retail is required.
  • The ability to follow detailed instructions precisely is essential.
  • Adherence to health and safety dress codes is necessary.
  • Knowledge of food expiry policies is crucial.
  • Participation in training programs is expected.
  • Flexibility with working hours is required.
  • A basic level of bakery knowledge is necessary.
Compensation Package:

This position offers an estimated annual salary of $42,000 - $50,000, depending on experience, based on the job requirements and location. Benefits and other compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.
