Job Title: Senior Asset Management Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Asset Management Specialist to join our team in Canada. As a key member of our Client Tax Operations & Advisory Centre of Excellence, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations and providing tax-related support to various teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of monthly, quarterly, and year-end distributions for investment funds
  • Management of compliance in all tax areas, including investor tax slips reconciliation, FATCA/CRS, annual tax returns, GST/HST filings, and other tax filings
  • Review and guidance on fund-specific transactions to internal groups
  • Liaison with internal clients on initiatives and advising Product Development on tax matters related to fund reorganizations and new product launches
  • Subject matter expertise on tax-related queries from Customer Relations Centre and/or Sales team
  • Liaison with internal, financial, and CRA auditors during audits
  • Oversight of work performed by service providers
  • Contact person with tax authorities, dealing with notice of assessments and other tax inquiries
  • Coordination and review of work performed by foreign tax agents on foreign tax calculations and reporting
  • Management of tax vs. GAAP differences and collaboration with financial statement preparation to ensure capture of tax vs. GAAP differences
  • Stay current on company and industry developments through networking and seminars

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in tax practice of a public accounting firm or equivalent industry experience
  • Completion of CPA In-Depth Tax Program is an asset
  • Previous exposure to full range of tax issues affecting investment funds, including GST/HST and registered products
  • Experience with tax reporting for trusts, corporations, and limited partnerships
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Innovative thinking focused on improving control effectiveness and efficiency, and proven orientation to results
  • Excellent communication, relationship, influencing, and interpersonal skills

Estimated Salary Range: CAD $120,000 - CAD $150,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
