Job Summary

We are seeking an Early Childhood Education Professional to join our team at Alderwood House as a Child Development Specialist.

About the Role
  • Develop and implement comprehensive child-care programs that promote healthy growth and development in children.
  • Lead engaging activities, including storytelling, teaching songs, and exploring local points of interest, to stimulate young minds and foster social skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive environment that encourages children to develop essential life skills, such as eating habits, dressing, and toilet training.
Responsibilities
  1. Design and execute child-care programs tailored to meet the unique needs of each child, ensuring a safe and nurturing atmosphere.
  2. Supervise and coordinate activities with other early childhood educators and assistants, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
  3. Prepare nutritious snacks and arrange comfortable spaces for rest periods, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  4. Monitor children's progress, identifying potential learning or behavioral challenges, and provide personalized support to help them thrive.
Certifications and Qualifications
  • Child Development Supervisor (ECE Level 3)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Work Conditions
  • The role requires a combination of physical activity, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
