Nurse Practitioner

Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital (OSMH) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Renal Care team. As a key member of our inter-professional team, you will provide direct clinical care, education, research, consultation, and treatment to support the care needs of designated renal patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform and document medical history and physical exam findings in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Diagnose medical conditions and order appropriate tests/procedures in consultation with physician partners
- Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies independently or in consultation with physician partners
- Consult as needed with the Hospitalists, Specialists, Community Primary Care Practitioners, and Allied Health team members
- Utilize diagnostic reasoning and decision-making process to formulate a list of hypotheses, determine the need for, order, and interpret diagnostic testing, and formulate a medical diagnosis within the specialty scope of practice and consistent with practice guidelines
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario is required
- BScN required
- Nurse Practitioner Certification required
- Masters degree in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner Stream is preferred
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification preferred
- Gerontology Nursing Certification is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with others, with strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated superior organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated teaching skills
- Demonstrated program development skills and experience
- Ability to work with minimal direction to successfully achieve objectives
