Academic Researcher Opportunity in Forensic Analytical Toxicology

About the Role:

The Department of Anthropology at the University of Toronto Mississauga invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in the area of Forensic Analytical Toxicology as part of the Forensic Science Program. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and teaching in the field of Forensic Analytical Toxicology
  • Develop and maintain a strong research program with a focus on bench-based analytical chemistry, forensic toxicology, or a related area
  • Teach undergraduate courses in the Forensic Science Program
  • Contribute to the development of the Forensic Science Program

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in Chemistry or Toxicology with an emphasis on bench-based analytical chemistry, forensic toxicology, or a related area
  • Established record of research excellence and teaching expertise
  • Experience working in a forensic laboratory or as an independent forensic consultant
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance protocols and accreditation processes for forensic labs
