Coast Mountains School District 82 is a diverse and inclusive learning community that serves a student population of approximately 4,100 students in nineteen schools. Job SummaryWe are seeking a qualified and experienced Secondary Counsellor to join our team on a part-time (.200 FTE) basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance and support to students, parents, and staff members. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the revised BC Curriculum and be able to work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
Key Responsibilities- Provide guidance and support to students, parents, and staff members
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to support student learning
- Assist with student assessments and evaluations
- Provide referrals to community resources as needed
The successful candidate will possess a valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or be eligible for) and have experience teaching students at all grade levels. A working knowledge of the learning standards, curricular competencies, and core competencies within the revised BC Curriculum is essential. The ideal candidate will also have strong classroom management skills, be able to relate well with students, parents, and staff members, and be committed to following the goals and strategies outlined in the school and district framework for enhanced learning.
