Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish therapeutic relationships with clients and assess their needs
• Develop and modify individualized care plans to meet client priorities
• Perform various nursing procedures, such as taking vital signs and communicating patient information to the healthcare team
• Monitor client status and report any concerns to the nurse-in-charge
• Maintain accurate and complete records of client care

Requirements

• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses plus 1 year of experience working with offenders and/or in secure health care settings
• Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM)
• Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification (OFA Level 3 certification for positions at the Ford Mountain Correctional Centre)
