**Job Title:** Loss Control Specialist, Commercial and Residential
**Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Loss Control Specialist to join our team at Verisk. As a Loss Control Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing residential and commercial properties to identify potential risks and provide recommendations to reduce losses.

- Assess residential and commercial properties to identify potential risks and provide recommendations to reduce losses.
- Conduct thorough inspections of properties, including reviewing fire prevention systems, heating equipment, and fuel storage tanks.
- Prepare detailed reports using our internal systems, identifying construction and equipment details, risk assessment, and replacement cost value.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, providing excellent customer service and communicating effectively.
- Meet or exceed individual and team revenue goals.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, continually expanding your expertise to assess more complex properties.
Requirements
- Education in insurance, construction, or engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with building codes, fire services, construction, and maintenance.
- Excellent computer skills, including database management, typing speed and accuracy, and word processing.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Experience as an underwriting assessor or in the insurance field is preferred.
Work Environment
This is a home-based role with extensive travel within a region, requiring a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle. National runs occur at least once per year.
