Facilities Operations Specialist

The Property Maintenance Lead is a key role within Crombie, responsible for overseeing the efficient management of our properties in the GTA and surrounding area.
About This RoleThis position requires a strong background in maintenance-related experience, with knowledge of building operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be proficient in computer software, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Reader/Writer.
Main Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day operations and maintenance duties, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Travel frequently to visit properties within the portfolio, monitoring progress and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Supervise building operations and contract staff, delegating tasks as necessary and following up on their completion.
- Assist with annual operations and capital project budgeting, working closely with other departments to ensure accurate forecasting.
- Oversee preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs, focusing on general maintenance, plumbing, lighting, electrical, elevating devices, and life safety systems.
- Monitor maintenance schedules, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Obtain pricing and scheduling for work order requests, streamlining the process and reducing costs.
- Support occupational health and safety and environmental programs at the property level, promoting a safe and sustainable work environment.
- Monitor third-party contractors, ensuring that contracted services meet the highest standards.
- Manage Yardi work order and purchase order tasks, maximizing efficiency and minimizing downtime.
- Complete monthly inspections of properties, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective action.
- Monitor performance and repair costs for Voyager Fixed Asset module, tracking trends and making data-driven decisions.
- 3-5 years of maintenance-related experience and knowledge of building operations.
- Formal education in real estate and/or property management is considered an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer software, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Reader/Writer.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- General knowledge in waste treatment and septic systems, water fill stations and distribution systems, daily water testing, fire pumps and panels, HVAC systems, and occupational health and safety standards and procedures.
