Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign sales workers to duties and ensure the sales floor is adequately staffed.
  • Hire and train or arrange for training of staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties.
  • Order merchandise and authorize the return of merchandise as needed.
  • Establish work schedules and ensure the sales floor is operating efficiently.
  • Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters to inform management decisions.
  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages.
  • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers to ensure the sales floor is running smoothly.
  • Administer policy changes and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Manage cash and oversee payroll administration.
  • Verify stock availability from current inventories and analyze incoming and outgoing memoranda, submissions, and reports.
  • Provide advice about merchandise and provide customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Participate in staff meetings and complete administrative duties as required.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in a retail sales environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to distinguish between colours and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
