Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Risk Management and Governance Specialist to join our Corporate Internal Audit Services (CIAS) area. This role will ensure a coordinated and disciplined approach to internal audits for the Government of Alberta. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to evaluate and make recommendations to improve risk management, controllership, accountability, and governance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and improve risk management, controllership, accountability, and governance processes
- Develop and implement financial controls to support risk management frameworks
- Manage financial and human resources, technology, and information management systems
- Build strong teams through demonstrated leadership, consultation, and negotiation skills
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need extensive related senior management experience, strengths in internal audit practices, and strong knowledge of risk management and government practices. A Certified Internal Auditor or other audit-related or accounting designation is preferred.
What We Offer
This position offers a competitive salary range of $132,652 - $174,329 per year, based on a 30 bi-weekly pay period. Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
