Backend Software Developer Job Description

At Bankonloop, we're seeking a skilled Backend Software Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of our cutting-edge financial services platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop scalable and secure backend infrastructure using Python and Ruby.
  • Collaborate with other developers and engineers to bring innovative features to life.
  • Partner with the Senior Development team to maintain and architect core infrastructure supporting new features.
  • Develop and improve automation for transactions, ledger reconciliation, and statement generation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to improve the team and our software stack.
Requirements:
  • Strong fundamental programming skills (data structures, algorithms).
  • Strong proficiency in version control (Git) workflows.
  • Experience building and managing a suite of third-party integrations.
  • Developing backend software with a security-first approach (OWASP).
  • Knowledge of automated testing frameworks for common web-frameworks.
Our Technical Stack:
  • Ruby on Rails, Django, React, TypeScript, AWS, Heroku.
What We Offer:
  • Salary range CAD $80,000-$130,000 annual, commensurate with experience.
  • Enrollment in group's health benefits after probation period.
