Role and ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be based out of the world-class SSCY Centre in Winnipeg and provide pediatric SLP services in First Nations communities in Manitoba on a drive-in or fly-in, itinerant basis. The role involves working collaboratively with Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to deliver family-centered services under the direction of the Program Manager.
The Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for:
- Providing therapy services to families, caregivers, and day care providers in clinic and community settings.
- Collecting and reviewing consumer information to initiate assessment.
- Selecting and administering appropriate evaluation procedures and tools.
- Interpreting, documenting, and communicating evaluation information through written and verbal reports.
- Participating in conferences/meetings pertinent to consumers' specialized needs.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in pediatrics, First Nations communities, and consultative/collaborative service delivery models. A commitment to family-centered practice and strong organizational/communication skills with sensitivity to diversity are essential.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary ranging from $85,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Additional benefits include:
- Northern Premium: 10% above regular wage for hours worked above the 53rd parallel.
- Expenses covered for travel and overnight costs.
