Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Cashier to join our team at Shell. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, operating a cash register, and processing transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a cash register and process transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional manner.
- Process money, cheques, and credit/debit card payments, as well as scan items and calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales.
- Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, such as housing, transportation, and childcare.
- Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth and provide mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
- Work in a fast-paced retail environment, maintaining a high level of productivity and accuracy while providing excellent customer service.
Requirements:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Will train.
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
- Basic math skills and ability to accurately handle cash and operate a cash register.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
