Cultivating Recovery and Empathy in Mental Health Support

We are seeking a compassionate Mental Health and Addictions Support Worker to join our team at the Red Fish Healing Centre- BC Mental Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges.
Job DescriptionSalary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience
This dynamic role requires a strong understanding of recovery principles, community resources, and social support networks. You will work closely with clients to identify their needs, develop personalized care plans, and provide emotional support and counseling to facilitate their recovery journey.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor clients' progress, observing behaviors and symptoms, and documenting observations in accordance with standard procedures.
- Participate in admission, case planning, and discharge processes by conducting client interviews, gathering relevant records, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Establish rapport with clients, providing emotional support, and assisting with problem-solving day-to-day matters and personal hygiene.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including time management, organization, and interpersonal communication.
- Escorted clients to medical, dental, and social appointments and act as a role model to facilitate appropriate social behaviors.
Qualifications:
- Diploma from a recognized Social Services Support Worker educational program.
- Two (2) years' recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid driver's license for local area travel.
