Tax Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our Deal Advisory group at British Columbia Investment Management Corporation. As a key member of our tax team, you will play a critical role in providing tax support to our deal teams for the entire M&A life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide tax support to deal teams for diligence, structuring, modeling, and post-close asset management for investments across several asset classes.
- Interpret different international tax and business issues with the assistance of external advisors, internalizing advice and guiding deal teams on positions that align with our tax risk policy.
- Identify key tax positions taken on investments and monitor tax risks post-closing to assess costs, risks, and opportunities to mitigate tax risk.
- Manage relationships with external advisors in different markets to assist with transactions.
- Completion of the CICA In-depth Tax course, a Masters in Tax, or other similar training.
- Experience with domestic and international private equity, infrastructure, private credit, and/or real estate transactions.
- Experience with tax-exempt pension plans and/or tax-exempt government investors.
- Experience with relevant US tax law and/or tax law in other jurisdictions outside Canada.
